OSFP is an eight-channel compact pluggable optical module that contains eight high-speed electrical channels running at 50Gb/s each, for a total bandwidth of 400Gb/s and realizes a 400G OSFP interconnect ecosystem. OSFP-DD (Quad Small Form Factor Pluggable Dual Density) doubles OSFP interconnect density with an 8-channel electrical interface capable of 28Gbps NRZ or 56Gbps PAM-4 for 200 or 400 Gbps per port aggregation, and backwards compatibility of the OSFP-DD portfolio allows existing QSFP modules to be plugged into QSFP-DD ports, providing low loss with less skew. With good thermal and signal integrity performance.

In addition to this, the 400G OSFP to QSFP-DD DAC cable utilizes a Twin Dense Twisted Pair (Twinax) architecture that combines both OSFP and QSFP-DD standards.
