400G SR4.2 and 100G SRBD optical modules enable the transition to 400G rates without changing existing multimode fiber. Not only can they save fiber resources, they can also simplify the process of migrating to higher speeds and protect existing fiber infrastructure. In this article, State Road introduces you to 400G SR4.2 and 100G SRBD optical modules.
400G SR4.2 Optical Module Introduction
400G SR4.2 "S" is the abbreviation of short, expressing short-distance transmission, "4" is 4 optical channels, indicating 4 transmitters and 4 receivers, "2" is the transmission of each fiber. 2 wavelengths per fiber. The transmission distance is up to 70m (OM3) / 100m (OM4) in multimode fiber through MPO/MTP-12 connector, using the same cabling as 40G SR4, 100G SR4 and 200G SR4.
100G SRBD Optical Module Introduction
100G SRBD optical module adopts SWDM WDM technology to multiplex optical
signals of different wavelengths in the same fiber for transmission. The
transmission distance is up to 70m (OM3) / 100m (OM4) in multimode fiber through
dual core LC connector.
4*100G SRBD -400G SR4.2 Link (MPO and LC at both ends)
400G SR4.2 optical module and 100G SRBD optical module can be upgraded from 100G to 400G network by using one 8-core MPO-LC duplex branching multimode fiber patch cable.
