100GBASE-SR4 QSFP28 Optical Module

SR4 (Short Range 4) is a short range multimode fiber optic module that supports a maximum transmission distance of 100 meters. It uses 850nm wavelength optical signals to transmit data and is typically used for data center interconnections. The module has a maximum transmission rate of 100Gbps and supports both OM3 and OM4 multimode fiber.

When the 100GBASE-SR4 QSFP28 optical module transmits signals at the transmitter side, the electrical signals are converted to optical signals by the laser array, and then transmitted in parallel over the ribbon multimode fiber, and when it reaches the receiver side, the photodetector array converts the parallel optical signals into parallel electrical signals.

100GBASE-LR4 QSFP28 Optical Module

LR4 (Long Range 4) is a long range single-mode fiber module that supports a maximum transmission distance of 10 km. It uses 1310nm wavelength optical signals to transmit data and is usually used for interconnection between data centers. The maximum transmission rate of this module is 100Gbps.

The 100GBASE-LR4 QSFP28 optical module converts four 25Gbps electrical signals into four LAN WDM optical signals, which are then multiplexed into a single channel for 100G optical transmission. At the receiving end, the module demultiplexes the 100G optical input into 4 LAN WDM optical signals and then converts them into 4 electrical output channels.

100GBASE-ER4 QSFP28 Optical Module

ER4 (Extended Range 4) is an ultra-long-haul single-mode fiber module that supports a maximum transmission distance of 40 km. It uses 1310nm wavelength optical signals to transmit data and is usually used for long distance transmission between data centers. It is characterized by low power consumption and high performance. The maximum transmission rate of this module is 100Gbps.

The 100GBASE-ER4 QSFP28 optical module adopts advanced modulation technology, which enables high-speed data transmission over single-mode fiber. In addition, the optical module also supports digital diagnostic monitoring (DDM) function, which can monitor the module's working status, optical power, temperature and other parameters in real time to improve the reliability and stability of the system.

100GBASE-PSM4 QSFP28 Optical Module

PSM4 (Parallel Single Mode 4) is a parallel single mode fiber optic module that supports a maximum transmission distance of 500 meters. It is usually used for data center internal interconnection. The maximum transmission rate of this module is 100Gbps. It adopts the parallel transmission technology and uses four single-mode fibers to transmit data simultaneously, which can improve the transmission bandwidth and distance.

100G QSFP28 PSM4 optical module fiber transmission model is similar to the 100G QSFP28 SR4 optical module, in which the biggest difference is that the PSM4 optical module transmission medium is a single-mode fiber, using a laser light source of 1310nm, and the connector is a single-mode MTP/MPO.

In summary, whether it is SR4, LR4, ER4 or PSM4 type of module, have the advantages of high-speed transmission, low power consumption and high reliability, these four types of 100G QSFP28 optical modules have a wide range of applications in data centers and cloud computing and other fields, will provide a more efficient, fast and stable solution for data transmission.
